Full Cheek French Bit this is an eggbutt sided, full ball cheek snaffle, with a double jointed mouthpiece connected by a flat plate, that removes the nutcracker action of a single joint. The eggbutt sides give a cushioned effect to the sides of the mouth prevent pinching or chaffing; while the full cheeks ensure that the mouthpiece remains central in the mouth and cannot be pulled through. They also provide cheek pressure and guidance to help keep the horse straight. The flat plate acts on the centre of the tongue- at a slight angle if cheek keepers are fitted to keep the cheeks upright and prevent the bit turning over in the mouth. The keepers are fitted to the bridle head and loop round the upper arm of the cheek to fix it. The medium sized ring, D rings give a positive contact.
